Mothers Day

It's mothers day on Sunday, and this year I've remembered to buy a card, but I thought I might try something a little crafty too.  Am looking around the Internet for some ideas on how to make paper flowers.  These sites have a few good ideas.

I'm going to try one I found on Martha Stewart's site.  The pattern is apparently for children because it is sooo much easier than other 'folds'.  So far I just have what looks like a screwed up piece of tissue - will have to grab some serviettes on on my way out of work today so I can practise at home.

Here's my efforts so far....

These ones I made out of paper napkins, they worked quite well, but if I'm planning on making a bunch, the empty space in the middle needs to be smaller.

The photography is rubbish, but this one I made from crepe paper, much better that the napkin, but could still do with something to fill the void in the middle.

In the end I decided that the flowers looked rubbish, so just went with a Mothers Day card instead.
